API Services has announced the expansion of its Laser Tracker Certification program, to the B89.4.19-2006 standard, to all its principle regional facilities in North America and subsidiary operations in Germany, China and India.
A Laser Tracker needs to have accuracy certified, at a minimum on a yearly basis, but since trackers are portable, often used in hazardous manufacturing environments, and are often shipped from location to location, more frequent certification is sometimes deemed necessary dependent upon tracker usage.
“The investment in regionalized certification centers by API minimizes the turn-around time for customer trackers and ensures that users are not enduring long delays in getting their tracker into the lab for recertification.” states Ron Hicks API Vice President. “API recertifies all Laser Tracker brands regardless of model and age and operates under A2LA ISO 17025 accreditation.”
In 2019, API Services certified a record number of Laser Trackers providing an independent statement of tracker performance. The North American locations now available for tracker certification are Los Angeles, CA; Dallas, TX; Detroit, MI; Newport News, VA; and Rockville, MD. Advanced scheduling minimizes customer tracker down-time; an optional laser tracker loaner program can keep customers measuring while the tracker is away undergoing certification.
API Services is also ISO 17025 accredited for on-site Laser Tracker certification for customers that cannot release their tracker to an API recertification laboratory.
For API Laser Trackers, the company offers a range of annual laser tracker calibration and certification contracts. Contracts can include comprehensive repair and maintenance including parts, a loaner tracker program, and priority calibration scheduling allowing laser trackers to be kept at their peak performance. Beyond calibration and certification, API Services also offers Laser Tracker rentals, Laser Tracker inspection services, and the sale of preowned Laser Tracker units to the budget conscious customer.
